Humphries & Littler to headline the PDC double-header Down Under

Later this year, when the World Series of Darts returns to Australia and New Zealand, Luke Humphries and Luke Littler will be among the main attractions.

The KenoGO Australian Darts Masters in Wollongong on August 8–9 will kick off the PDC’s yearly journey to Australia, followed by the SkyCity New Zealand Darts Masters in Auckland on August 15–16.

A 16-person field will compete over two days at each World Series event, with eight PDC superstars facing off against eight Oceanic representatives.

Humphries won his first World Series of Darts championship in New Zealand last year, and after a strong performance a year ago, the world number one will make a comeback in this year’s doubleheader.

Having seen success on the World Series circuit at the Bahrain Darts Masters and Poland Darts Masters in 2024, World Champion Littler, the current World Series of Darts Finals champion, will also be in the spotlight.

Their Premier League competitors Stephen Bunting, Gerwyn Price, and Chris Dobey will join the top two in the world as the latter gets ready to make his debut in Australia.

Having already won the New Zealand Darts Masters title in 2022, Price dominated Littler 8-1 to win the Australian Darts Masters last year.

Bunting, who won the January Bahrain Darts Masters, will play in Australia and New Zealand for the first time in ten years after making a comeback in the previous 18 months.

One of the PDC superstars will be Australian number one Damon Heta, who earlier this year broke into the world’s top eight after winning the World Cup.

Due to family obligations, Michael van Gerwen, Rob Cross, and Nathan Aspinall will not be participating in the doubleheader in August; the two other PDC representatives will be determined later.

Simon Whitlock, Heta’s World Cup partner, will lead the Oceanic representatives and is expected to continue his unstoppable World Series record in Australia.

The final qualifications are still to be determined, but the Australian legend will compete in both competitions alongside New Zealand’s top-ranked Haupai Puha.
