Lourence Ilagan and Alexis Toylo have withdrawn from the 2026 World Series of Darts Finals due to visa issues, with Daryl Gurney and Maik Kuivenhoven called up to replace the Filipino duo.

Ilagan and Toylo were unable to receive a decision on their Schengen visa applications before they were required to travel to China for the final weekend of the PDC Asian Tour and Monday’s PDC Asian Championship.

As a result, both players have withdrawn from next week’s showpiece at AFAS Live in Amsterdam.

Under PDC Rule 3.7, the pair have been replaced by the highest-ranked players on the Reserve List following last month’s Tour Card Holder Qualifier.

Gurney will take Ilagan’s place in the field, with the Northern Irishman handed a blockbuster opening-night clash against reigning champion Michael van Gerwen on Thursday.

The former Premier League champion will therefore return to the World Series of Darts Finals stage after securing his place as the first replacement on the Reserve List.

Kuivenhoven, meanwhile, will make his return to his home country for a major clash against 2021 World Series Finals champion Jonny Clayton.

The Dutchman takes Toylo’s place in the draw and will be looking to produce a memorable performance in front of the home crowd at AFAS Live.

The replacements have been made in order of qualification, with Gurney replacing Ilagan and Kuivenhoven stepping in for Toylo.

The withdrawals come just over a week before the four-day World Series finale gets underway in Amsterdam, with a star-studded field set to compete for one of the most prestigious titles on the PDC calendar.

World number one Luke Littler will headline the tournament alongside six-time champion Van Gerwen, while world number two Luke Humphries will also be among the leading contenders.

European Champion Gian van Veen will feature on home soil, with former World Series Finals champions Gerwyn Price, James Wade and Clayton also looking to add another title to their collections.

The 2026 World Series of Darts Finals will take place at AFAS Live from September 17-20, with the action beginning on Thursday night before the tournament reaches its conclusion on Sunday.
