Luke Littler slams the fake news stories printed in recent weeks  “The stuff in the papers I read it and laugh, it’s a load of rubbish.”

During his busy media schedule in New York Luke Littler had time to reflect on a whirlwind six months but also the unwanted attention from some of the UK tabloids.

Littler spoke about one story that was published about his brother that was complete ‘rubbish’

“My mum sent me something from The Sun. There’s like picture of my brother with his misses and the kid. They got his birthday wrong and it was just all rubbish,” he laughs in disbelief and disappointment. “They don’t need to get involved but that’s what they do. The stuff in the papers I read it and laugh, it’s a load of rubbish.”

Given his meteoric rise over the previous few months, the darting prodigy’s life has changed dramatically, with little time to take it all in. One of the unwelcome changes is the increased media attention. “I know most media wants to speak with me, but that’s what happens when you win,” he adds of the extra attention.

Littler, who was in high demand in the United States,  visited the Bleacher Report offices, appeared on the MMA Hour podcast with Ariel Helwani, and took an open-top bus tour of the city that never sleeps.

“The city is unbelievable,” the 17-year-old beams. “It’s just crazy. I thought London was busy! A year ago I was starting the Development Tour, still in school some days. But now, I’m here.”
