North American trio heading to Alexandra Palace after a dramatic climax to the CDC Tour

Leonard Gates, Jim Long, and Stowe Buntz will make their second World Darts Championship appearances in December after qualifying through the Championship Darts Corporation circuit.

The final three events of the CDC ProTour season took place in Indianapolis from September 21 to 22, with North America’s top talents competing for World Championship qualification.

The enigmatic Gates will make his second appearance in the sport’s showpiece event after placing first on the 2024 CDC Order of Merit and winning three titles earlier in the season.

Long, a veteran of Canadian darts, will also return to Alexandra Palace after a six-year absence, having reached back-to-back finals in Indianapolis to end as the highest-ranked Canadian representative on the CDC Order of Merit.

Buntz, who made his World Championship debut a year ago, will return to the capital immediately after finishing third in the final standings and qualifying for Sunday’s Event 14 final.

Adam Sevada defeated the former Grand Slam quarter-finalist in Sunday’s final, finishing the season in fourth place, barely ahead of David Cameron in fifth.

Sevada was the weekend’s standout performance, beginning the action with a deciding-leg triumph over Long in Event 12.

The American eliminated Jacob Brooks, Nick Linberg, Jacob Taylor, and David Cameron in just two legs to advance to the semi-finals, where he defeated Jeff Springer 7-4.

Sevada then delivered a series of outstanding performances to win Event 14, defeating Kiley Edmunds, Brian Fenlon, Cameron, and Jason Watt before averaging 100.92 in a 7-3 victory over Buntz.

Jake Womack was the weekend’s other champion, defeating Long in another final leg to capture his second CDC title.

Womack also averaged 101 in his quarter-final victory over Taylor, and after defeating previous UK Open runner-up Gary Mawson 7-1 in the semi-finals, he rallied from a 6-5 deficit to beat Long in Event 13.
