Phil Taylor is entering the closing months of his active career. The 16-time world champion retired from the PDC in 2018, but has since played on the World Seniors Darts Tour.
Taylor has struggled over the last 12 months with a hip problem that he knew needed surgery, which has now been completed as the power looks to go out in style.
Taylor went under the knife three weeks ago, but is already back on his feet as the greatest of all time gave us an update over the weekend.
“I’ve had my operation, everything’s fine because a lot of people have been asking me about it. I’m off my crutches now which is great,”
“It’s been three weeks on Monday. So another three weeks and I’ll be on the practice board getting ready for the Seniors. Hopefully now everything will be back to normal, that’s the plan.”
Taylor has two World Seniors majors left in 2024, the Matchplay in October and the Masters in November.
So far in his Seniors career Taylor is yet to taste success, so now that he is pain-free the Stoke man is eyeing glory in his final farewell to competitive darts.
