Premier League Fixtures Confirmed – Humphries and Littler Collide Again
Luke Humphries and Luke Littler will face off in a rematch of the World Championship final on the first night of the BetMGM Premier League on February 1, with the initial games already announced.
The BetMGM Premier League will feature eight of the sport’s biggest performers in 16 mini-events throughout the season, with each league night featuring quarter-finals, semi-finals, and a final over the best of 11 legs.
The 2024 season kicks out on February 1 at Cardiff’s Utilita Arena, with the first night’s quarter-finals featuring World Champion Humphries and adolescent phenom Littler.
Humphries won the record-breaking World Championship final on January 3, and the world number one will make his complete Premier League debut against the World Youth Champion.
Gerwyn Price, a hometown hero, will also take front stage in Cardiff, where he will face World Matchplay winner Nathan Aspinall in a rematch of last year’s final.
In the evening’s third quarter-final, reigning champion Michael van Gerwen takes on 2023 World Champion Michael Smith, as the Dutch great continues his attempt for a record-extending eighth Premier League title.
Meanwhile, in the tournament’s opening match, previous finalists Rob Cross and Peter Wright will face off in a battle of the World Champions.
Night Two will take place on February 8 at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin, with Van Gerwen and Aspinall opening the programme, and Humphries and Wright also colliding.
Wright will face Van Gerwen in Night Three at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro, while Littler makes his Scottish debut against Price.
The Welshman will also appear on Night Four at Newcastle’s Utilita Arena on Thursday, February 22, when he faces Van Gerwen in a rematch of last year’s final.
On Night Five, Humphries and Van Gerwen will face off, while Littler will face Smith in the evening’s fourth quarter-final at the West Point Exeter.
The sport’s biggest roadshow resumes with Night Six on March 7 in Brighton, where Humphries and Price renew their rivalry in a rematch of October’s World Grand Prix final.
Van Gerwen and Littler will square off on Night Seven in Nottingham on Thursday, March 14, which will also feature a duel of the most recent World Champions, Humphries versus Smith.
Quarter-final fixtures for 14 of the 16 league nights are shown here in draw bracket order, with fixtures for Nights Eight and 16 determined by league rankings prior to each night.
All matches will be best-of-11 legs, with each night’s winner receiving a £10,000 extra.
Ranking points will also be granted each night, with five to the winner, three to the runner-up, and two to the semi-finalists, to build the league table, from which the top four players will advance to the Play-Offs at the O2 on Thursday 23rd May.
