Price stars in Poland to take the title ahead of the World Matchplay
Gerwyn Price delivered a moment of magic to capture the 2025 Superbet Poland Darts Masters title on Saturday night, taking down Stephen Bunting 8-7 in a thrilling last-leg decider at the PreZero Arena in Gliwice.
Cheered on by a raucous 9,000-strong Polish crowd, Price produced a sensational 91 checkout — finishing with double 17 and double 20 — to deny Bunting and lift his fourth World Series of Darts crown in dramatic fashion.
The Welshman, who averaged 103 in the final, battled back from 4-2 down and rode a wave of momentum through the second half of the contest. Despite missing three match darts at 7-5, he held his nerve in the decider to take home the £30,000 top prize and secure his first World Series success since 2022.
“To go double-double with Stephen sat on a double was incredible,” said a jubilant Price. “I was frustrated early on, but I kept digging in and I’m thrilled to come through that.”
The final was a rematch of January’s Bahrain Darts Masters showdown, but this time it was Price who emerged victorious. Bunting had taken the early initiative, stringing together finishes of 96 and 68 to open up a two-leg cushion after six legs, despite Price producing a highlight-reel 137 checkout earlier in the match.
But the Welshman clicked into gear, winning five of the next six legs to take control at 7-5. Bunting, showing trademark grit, forced a decider when Price faltered on the finish line — but the former World Champion wasn’t to be denied, closing the contest in the most stylish fashion.

A Champion Without a Suitcase
Remarkably, Price’s weekend didn’t get off to the smoothest of starts, arriving in Gliwice without his luggage. But he believes the enforced change of equipment might just have sparked something.
“I’ve done this before,” he laughed. “A few years ago in Ireland I lost my suitcase, changed darts, shoes, everything… and I won the Grand Slam. Maybe it’s good luck after all!”
He certainly didn’t look out of sorts on the oche, beginning his campaign with a composed 6-3 win over Poland’s Sebastian Bialecki before demolishing Chris Dobey 6-2 with a 104+ average in the quarter-finals. In the semis, Price swept past Rob Cross 7-3, taking seven of the last eight legs in a commanding display.
Bunting’s Brave Run Falls Just Short
Stephen Bunting once again showed his class on the World Series stage, reaching his fourth final of 2025 after a pair of impressive wins on Saturday.
He edged past Polish hero Krzysztof Ratajski in a gripping last-leg shootout — finishing the match with a sublime 150 checkout — before taking out defending champion Luke Littler 7-3 in the semis.
“I’ve had a great weekend,” said Bunting. “But you can’t give Gezzy a second chance. That double-double to win — I just said to him, ‘unbelievable’. A great ending to a great game.”
A third World Series title of the year eluded the world number four, but his form on the global stage continues to impress.

Littler’s Title Defence Ends in Semi-Final
Luke Littler’s quest for back-to-back titles in Poland came to an end at the hands of Bunting, though the teenage World Champion still dazzled the Gliwice crowd. He produced a 170 finish in each of his matches — first in his 6-3 quarter-final win over Nathan Aspinall, and again in the semi-final, even as he fell to a heavy defeat.
Michael van Gerwen’s campaign also ended at the quarter-final stage, with Rob Cross coming through 6-4 after punishing the Dutchman’s wayward finishing.
What’s Next?
The World Series of Darts heads Down Under next month, with two major events on the calendar:
- KenoGO Australian Darts Masters (August 8–9, Wollongong)
- SkyCity New Zealand Darts Masters (August 15–16, Auckland)
With form, momentum, and now a fourth World Series trophy in his hands, Gerwyn Price will head into the summer as the man to beat.
