Fallon Sherrock won two of the three events on day one of the PDC Women’s Series.

The Queen of the Palace followed up reaching her first ever PDC final last week in Copenhagen with a fantastic day in Milton Keynes. She is over £700 clear of nearest rival Lisa Ashton, who won the opening event of the day.

It means Sherrock is in a great position to claim the first Women’s spot at the 2021 Grand Slam of Darts.

Superb Sherrock in great position

After reaching the last 16 in event one, The Queen of the Palace produced some excellent darts to take the overall Order of Merit lead in events two and three.

She won event two by beating Corrine Hammond 5-2 in the final, going top of the Order of Merit in the process.

In event three, she met Deta Hedman in the final, who’d made a quarter final and semi final earlier in the day. In a tight match, Sherrock averaged 105 at one stage, before eventually coming through 5-3 averaging 97.01.

Ashton nearest challenger after win

Tour card holder Lisa Ashton came through a tough draw to win the opening event of the 2021 PDC Women’s Series.

Beating Sherrock, Lorraine Winstanley and Anastasia Dobromysolva en route, she came through 5-3 against Rhian O’Sullivan to get the tournament victory.

The Lancashire Rose will need a solid start tomorrow to keep Sherrock from getting further away from the field, and keep her own hopes of a Grand Slam spot alive.
