Van Leuven and Greaves triumph at PDC Women Series in Niedernhausen
Noa-Lynn van Leuven and Beau Greaves triumphed in events 15 and 16 of the PDC Women’s Series in Niedernhausen.
Both players met each other in both event finals, with van Leuven winning event 15 before Greaves winning event 16.
Event 15
Dutch star Van Leuven secured her third PDC Women’s title of 2024 in the first tournament of the day, with comfortable wins in all her matches leading up to the final.
The 27-year-old kicked off her day with a dominant 4-1 win over Anca Zijlstra, reeling off four legs in a row in under 20 darts.
Her averages of 79.88 and 78.69 were enough to win over Gemma Hayter and Alien de Graaf by a 4-2 scoreline in both matches.
Her match with Hayter saw the Englishwoman establish a 2-0 lead, but Van Leuven mustered 18, 14, 17, and 24 darters to progress.
The Beverwijk-born player raced into a 4-1 lead over Irishwoman Robyn Byrne but managed to end a late fightback from her opponent to win 5-3.
Byrne’s back-to-back 17 and 15 darters put Van Leuven under the cosh, but she responded with two 130+ scores against the throw to snatch that final leg.
Rhian O’Sullivan was the next player on her hitlist, a semi-final encounter that was one-way traffic for the home favourite. Despite how plain sailing the final score ended, the Dutchwoman formulated her worst average of the day up to that point.
Her final encounter with Greaves was no easy task, with the double reigning World Champion defeating Fallon Sherrock, Lisa Ashton and Mikuru Suzuki in a row up till that point.
Van Leuven raced into a 4-0 lead, hitting 13, 18, 15 and 18 darters, and it appeared like it was heading into a whitewash win for the Challenge Tour winner.
Greaves wasn’t going down without a fight and formulated a four-leg streak of her own, winning in 21, 15, 14 and 13 darts. Van Leuven snatched the last leg in 13 darts to take the £2,000 paycheque.

Event 16
Greaves continued to expand her PDC Women Series title collection, adding yet another title win to her incredible darting CV.
She kicked off event 16 in dominating fashion, claiming whitewash wins over Talita Biagetti, Rose Mort and Robyn Byrne.
With 111 and 121 checkouts thrown in two of those matches, averages of 84.68, 77.08 and 78.08 showed her best game was yet to come.
Her best performance of the event arrived in the quarter-finals against Paige Pauling, averaging 92.02.
16, 14, 14, 20 and 16 darters allowed Greaves to progress, but fellow countrywoman Pauling’s final average was 79.59 would have provided closer games in Greaves’ other games.
Greaves fended off a late comeback from semi-final opponent Kim Holden to win 5-3. Despite being 4-0 up, Holden attempted to formulate a comeback on the World Matchplay champion and reeled off three legs in a row.
Greaves mustered a 16-darter when it mattered most to meet her rival Van Leuven once again. Greaves sustained a 3-1 leg lead, but Van Leuven produced the goods on the outer ring to again put the affair on level terms.
Greaves dug in deeper to produce a 15 and 16-darter of her own to win the final event of the weekend’s double event header.
