Wessel Nijman Claims His First Senior PDC Title with an 8-5 win over Stephen Bunting

Nijman build on what had been a great weekend in Switzerland and in his second PDC Players Championship Final of the year was able to get over the line and add a  senior title to what has been an incredible few months of form.

Steven Bunting was the quickest out of the blocks in the final taking an early break for a 2-0 lead. Dutchman Nijman was quick to reclaim that break levelling the match up 2-2 in tense early exchange. The Bullet missed two darts at double in the fifth leg for a 3-2 lead but Nijman was able to capitalise and take the lead, quickly establishing some breathing space moving to 5-2. From that point even a couple of mistakes from Nijman and a break from Bunting were not enough to close the gap and when the Bullet again missed two darts at double to bring the game within one leg, it was too little too late and the Dutchman claimed his first senior title.
