The business end of the World Grand Prix has arrived, and this evening, there will be four exciting quarter-final matches to watch in Leicester.

Three players have reached the quarter-finals of this tournament for the first time, with Mike De Decker, Ryan Joyce and former world champion Rob Cross appearing in unmarked territory.

Mike De Decker vs James Wade

Mike De Decker won the most significant match of his career against Gary Anderson on Thursday evening, with the Belgian stealing the spotlight to dominate in a whitewash three set to nothing victory.

Despite being the surprise package, he averaged 95.74 against the Scotsman and has been riding the crest of a wave but tonight he faces his biggest test yet against James Wade.

The serial major TV winner reached the quarter-finals for the first time in a decade in a whitewash win over Gerwyn Price, but this tournament has looked impressive for the man from Aldershot which makes this game an intriguing battle

Rob Cross vs Ryan Joyce

Ryan Joyce pulled off a surprise victory over former Grand Prix finalist Nathan Aspinall in round two in a hard fought victory, reaching a second TV quarter-final for the first time since his run in Minehead for the 2023 Players Championship Finals.

Joyce will be a tough test for Cross but the former Matchplay winner always has produced a deep major run every year since turning professional, but with both players experiencing a Grand Prix quarter-final for the first time it should make a very close contest.

Luke Humphries vs Jonny Clayton

The defending champion takes on the former winner in arguably the game of the evening. Both players know what it takes to win this tournament with its novelty and iconic format.

The Welshman is slowly coming back into form after a difficult 12-months battling with life away from the oche, but the Ferret of old can come out at any given time.

Humphries however narrowly avoided a first-round exit to Stephen Bunting as the multiple PDC ranking winner knows how to dig in deep when needed when the pressure is at its highest. This attribute will make any game a tough test and Clayton has a tough test on his hands – but Clayton has shown on multiple occasions that he can play outstanding stuff on the double in double out format.

Joe Cullen vs Dimitri Van den Bergh

Joe Cullen’s comeback win over Daryl Gurney on Thursday night set him through to the quarter-finals, whereas Dimitri Van den Bergh showed bottle to win two last leg deciding set wins to defeat the in-form Dave Chisnall.

Cullen will be hoping to replicate his semi-final run from last year but he will need to improve on his average of 82.52 to stand a chance. Van den Bergh has impressed in his first two games and will aim to reach the Grand Prix semi-final for the first time this coming weekend.
