As the 40-nation tournament gets underway next week, hosts Germany will also take front stage at home. The Netherlands will begin their quest for a record-tying fifth BetVictor World Cup of Darts title against Italy on Thursday, June 12.
From June 12 to 15, 40 countries will vie for the coveted title in the special pairs event at the 2025 World Cup of Darts, which will be held at Frankfurt’s Eissporthalle.
Based on the two competing players’ lowest cumulative PDC Order of Merit rankings, the top four ranked countries are seeded and will advance to the second round.
Among them are the defending champions England, Wales and Scotland, who have won twice, and Northern Ireland, who finished fourth and advanced to the semi-finals in 2014 and 2016.
For the round-robin phase, the remaining 36 countries—12 of which are seeded—have been divided into 12 groups of three, with the victor of each group moving on.
The Netherlands, along with 2024 quarterfinalists Italy and Hungary, will lead Group A with Danny Noppert and World Cup rookie Gian van Veen.

At the Eissporthalle this year, World Grand Prix winner Mike De Decker will be paired with the return of Dimitri Van den Bergh in a new-look Belgian pairing.
When they play Latvia and the Philippines in Group B, the 2013 runners-up hope to change that. They have since advanced to seven semi-finals without winning the championship.
As he and Martin Schindler take on Portugal and Singapore, led by 71-year-old legend Paul Lim, in Group C, Ricardo Pietreczko will make his World Cup debut for the hosts, Germany.
Finalists for 2019 Group E is led by Poland and includes Norway and South Africa, two-time quarterfinalists, while Group D is made up of the Republic of Ireland, Gibraltar, and China.
Three-time finalists in the quarterfinals Former quarterfinalists Sweden and France are joined by Lithuania in Group G, while Canada leads Group F, which also includes Malaysia and Denmark.
For 2024 runners-up Austria, Mensur Suljovic will continue to hold his enduring World Cup record, and Rusty-Jake Rodriguez, who will replace brother Rowby-John in the tandem, is set to make his debut for his nation.
In an exciting Group H matchup, they will face Spain and 2022 champions Australia. Simon Whitlock and world number eight Damon Heta will be making their big stage comebacks.

USA, Hong Kong, and Bahrain compete in Group I, while Czechia, China Taipei, and India—who did not qualify for the World Cup in year—are in Group J.
Quarterfinals for 2024 Group L is completed by Finland, New Zealand, and World Cup debutants Argentina, while Group K is led by Croatia, Japan, and Switzerland.
Before the pivotal group matches take place on Friday night, the losing countries from Thursday’s first round-robin matches will play the third team picked in each group on Friday afternoon.
England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland will begin their title hopes in the second round on Saturday, while the draw for the round of 16 will be held on Friday night after the group round is over.
As Littler makes his eagerly awaited World Cup debut, world number one Luke Humphries and world champion Luke Littler will create a dream partnership for five-time winners England. They will enter the tournament as 4/11 favourites with sponsors BetVictor.
Gary Anderson and Peter Wright reunite for third-seeded Scotland, who are 14/1 to win a third title, while Jonny Clayton and Gerwyn Price, the 7/2 second favourites, will try to guide Wales to a third victory in the pairs event.
Brendan Dolan’s enduring presence at this event comes to an end as Josh Rock and Daryl Gurney establish a new-look alliance for Northern Ireland.
The 12 group winners will be chosen at random, and the top four seeded countries will be pre-allocated into the draw bracket in the round of 16.
