Dimitri van den Bergh wins the 2024 UK Open with a nail-biting 11-10 win over Luke Humphries in the final.
The now world no.7 van den Bergh lifts his first UK Open and 2nd overall major, with his first major win since the 2020 World Matchplay.
Dimitri van den Bergh got off to the best possible start and raced into a 7-3 and 8-4 lead over the world no.1 and it looked one way traffic.
Despite this lead, Humphries reeled off 4 legs in a row including a 116 checkout on route to level up the affair at 8-8.
With van den Bergh showing bottle to take the next two legs and go one away, he then missed 5 match darts before Humphries made it 10-9 on the bull to stay within touching distance.
With van den Bergh missing one more to win the following leg, Humphries forced the game into a decider in what was a fantastic comeback attempt from then Newbury man.
Though Humphries missed two to win himself in the decider, the Belgian star sealed the game on tops to lift the trophy.
