Luke Littler criticises whistling crowd in Glasgow
Luke Littler described the Glasgow darts crowd as “pretty bad” after a night marred by booing and whistles on the second night of this year’s Premier League.
The youthful darts prodigy claimed his first nightly victory of the 2025 season, defeating Rob Cross, Michael van Gerwen, and Luke Humphries.
Littler’s win was marred by audience whistling, which was first directed at Humphries but also affected Gerwyn Price earlier in the evening, forcing match referee Kirk Bevins to interfere over the microphone midway through the match.
The 18-year-old defeated the world number one 6-5 in a last-leg decider, despite having a cut on the middle finger of his right throwing hand that required a plaster.
However, his victory was clouded by controversy, as excessive crowd noise distracted the players, prompting referees and security to intervene.

Rob Cross received boos twice while holding match darts, while Humphries and Littler were plainly upset by whistling during their final game of the night.
“Yeah, obviously, there was a few in particular that were doing it (whistling) when Luke (Humphries) was throwing,” Littler said after his victory.
“Kirk (Bevins, match referee) told them to be quiet and it got even worse, and then I missed doubles and Luke breaks at 5-4.
“I’m just like, ‘Kirk, you’ve made it worse for me there, I’m 5-4 down.’ But I broke back and held my throw very strongly again
“If it’s the same (outcome) as what it was when Kirk said it, then obviously just leave it. Obviously, they’ve got to step in at some point and say something. But yeah, that was pretty bad, but I got the win.”
