Andy Jenkins wins the final Icons title of the week, ending a thrilling week of streaming action.

Jenkins rolled back the years, as Rocky claimed the final MODUS Sports Icons of Darts Live League title of the week. Ahead of play, all eyes were on Scott Mitchell. As the formal champion of the world was looking to make it a hat-trick of titles.

Mitchell had won thirteen games on the spin, and looked set to make it three titles in a row. As the way results had gone, all eyes would be on the showdown clash between Jenkins and Mitchell.

Jenkins started the way with two huge victories, a 5-1 win over Stephen Burton averaging 92.81. This was followed by the same scoreline over John Brown, giving Rocky 4 points on the table.

Jenkins then beat Mark Webster 5-3, in a scrappy affair. Webster missed doubles at crucial moments in the match and was made to pay by Jenkins. Rocky made it four wins from four games with victory over Paul Nicholson.

Now all eyes were on Jenkins last game of the day, as he would take on Mitchell. Jenkins knew a victory would hand him the title, but a defeat would leave Mitchell in pole position to make it a hat-trick of titles.

The Showdown

The pair served up the game of the day for the viewers on the MODUS live stream. Jenkins and Mitchell traded legs, as the couple couldn’t be separated going all the way to the final ninth leg. Mitchell had the all-important throw in the last leg, and this was the difference, as Mitchell served out giving him a 5-4 win. You could see the disappointment etched all over the face of Jenkins, who would now have to sit and wait at home to see if anyone could end Mitchell’s run.

Mitchell would need two victories from his final two games, against Webster and Nicholson. Sadly for Mitchell, Nicholson would produce his best performance of the day as the Asset would average 96.30 in a 5-3 win. Nicholson missed one darts at double nine for a 138 finish that would have given him a 5-1 victory and at that point a whopping 108 average.

The win for Nicholson handed Jenkins the last MODUS Sports Icons of Darts Live League title of the week. Congratulations to Andy Jenkins.
