Michael Smith spurred on by Wayne Mardle’s comments, saying he would lose in the first round of the Betfred World Matchplay.

BullyBoy Michael Smith Spurred On By Wayne Mardle’s Comments

Bullyboy Michael Smith moved into round two of the Betfred World Matchplay in Milton Keynes, after beating Jonny Clayton 10-3. After the match, Smith relieved that he had been annoyed by comments by Sky Sports Wayne Mardle. These comments seem to spur Smith on, as he swept aside Clayton.

Smith” Just before my game my mum annoyed me, she text and said Mardle said you’re going to get beat coz you were rubbish in the Summer Series.

“ I was like right. I’ll show him then.”

Reading Social Media

Smith was speaking to us at Online Darts in the after-match press conference at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes. And Bullyboys seems to have been reading social media, as he was aware of Paul Nicholson’s comments about his performance at the PDC Summer Series.

“ Paul Nicholson put a tweet out saying I’d already made my excuse. I never ever said what he said. I think he was just trying to get followers I think.

“ I’d already put my excuses out; I was nervous it’s going to be different. Nah, I can play in my bedroom, my mums house. As long as I’m playing darts in the PDC, I’m happy.

“ I’ve had all the question about right you’ve lost all the weight it’s going to reck your stance. Nah I was practising every single day while I was doing it.”

Smith returns for the second round of the World Matchplay on Wednesday night, where he will play Mensur Suljovic. Smith last years runner up will be hoping to go one better this time around, and win his first PDC major title. The world number four Rob Cross crashed out of the tournament last night to Gabrial Clemens. Leaving Smith the highest seed left in his quarter of the draw.
