Littler and Humphries to go head to head in Nottingham – Premier League Darts Night Six Preview
On Thursday, Luke Humphries and Luke Littler, the top two darts players in the world, will square off in the BetMGM Premier League in Nottingham.
Humphries presently leads the teenager at the top of the table by two points, and he and Littler have won four of their first five nights together in this year’s roadshow.
However, after winning a hat-trick of titles in the previous two weeks, Littler is full of confidence when he arrives at the Motorpoint Arena.
Littler retained his Belgian Darts Open championship in Wieze on Sunday after winning the Night Five title in Brighton last Thursday, which followed his victory in the UK Open.
On the PDC ProTour on Tuesday, he finally ended his amazing 19-match winning streak, but only after averaging 122.93 against Damon Heta and landing a nine-darter earlier in the day.
“I’ve always been confident in my own ability,” insisted Littler, who has featured in three of the first five nightly finals this season.
“The way my darts are going at the minute, it’s probably the best I’ve ever played on a consistent basis.
“That is why I can find those extra gears and dig myself out of trouble when I need to.
“I said at the start of the year if I don’t win anything all year, I’m still a World Champion, and I’m just enjoying my darts at the minute.”

Humphries has also had a fantastic start to the season, winning games in Exeter and Belfast on a nightly basis to put himself eight points ahead of the competition for Play-Off spots.
Littler defeated Humphries in the Night Two final in Glasgow, but the world number one exacted revenge in Exeter, snapping a six-match losing streak against the youthful sensation.
Despite making his first broadcast nine-darter in the opening moments of their last eight match, Humphries was later defeated by an inspired Rob Cross in the Night Five quarterfinals last week.
“I was really pleased to hit the nine-darter last week, but Rob played a fantastic game to beat me,” conceded Humphries, the 2024 Premier League runner-up.
“I’m in a good position, but I’m still going to have to work hard to pick up these wins.
“I’ve got Luke this week, and then Michael [van Gerwen] in the quarter-finals next week.
“It’s going to be tough, but I know I’ve got the credentials to beat them both, and hopefully I can get some more points this week and stay top of the table!”

As the 2019 runner-up takes against Chris Dobey in the evening’s second quarterfinal, Humphries may meet Cross again in the Night Six semi-finals.
The Hastings-born player was dominant in Brighton, hitting a nine-darter and averaging 111 and 107. Dobey hasn’t won the Premier League since defeating Cross in the Night One semifinals.
On the Premier League stage, Night Three winner Gerwyn Price will try to get back to winning ways against Stephen Bunting, who is trying to make his first appearance.
Despite suffering averages of 109, 103, 112, and 106 since losing to Cross on Night One, Bunting is presently leading the field in his comeback to the sport’s top competition.
Aspinall and Van Gerwen, who are tied at eight points apiece, will square off in an exciting match to wrap up the quarterfinal action on Night Six.
After placing second to Price and Littler on Nights Three and Five, respectively, Aspinall has defied an unlucky start to his campaign by soaring to third place.
Although the seven-time champion has not yet participated in a nightly final in 2025, he has won four of his five quarterfinal matches, which is only surpassed by league leader Humphries.
