Price one win away from retaining his title

As expected the crowd starting booing Gerwyn Price from the start in this semi final. It looked like this had an impact on the Welshman as well as a reoccurrence of a shoulder injury, which saw him withdraw from the Nordic Darts Masters a few weeks ago as he fell behind early on.

Stephen Bunting took the first two sets and it looked like we were on for another upset in this year’s tournament.

After an extended break after set two, we saw an improved Gerwyn Price and he won the next two sets to level this game.

The fifth leg of the fifth set was the crucial one of this semi final. Both players started with a 120 on the Bunting throw.

Bunting fired in a 140 but it was the 180 from Price which gave him the advantage. Bunting was unable to continue the high scoring and Price’s 96 checkout was the game changer.

The final set was controlled by Gerwyn Price and he will be happy to be able to defend his title tomorrow night.

Clayton sets up final against his World Cup Partner

The first three sets went against the throw with all sets finishing the 3-1.

Set four was the deciding set in this game. With Noppert looking likely to level things up in sets, Jonny Clayton fired in a 14 and then a 16 dart leg to move one away from the final.

The fifth set we saw another mis count from Jonny however, this time it didn’t cost him as he was able to come back and clean up 26 to move one way.

Clayton sealed the win with a checkout of 72 and will feel he’s playing well enough to big up the trophy tomorrow night.
