The World Darts Federation (WDF) have announced the schedule and prize fund for their first ever WDF World Championship.

It will take place between 1-9 January, at the historic Lakeside Country Club in Frimley Green. The first three days overlap with the final three days of the PDC World Darts Championship.

There will also be a prize fund of over £300,000. The men’s winner will receive £50,000, while the women’s champion will receive £25,000, a record for a women’s event. There will also be a boy’s and girl’s competition.

The WDF have also announced tickets for the event will go on sale later in October. Tickets for the final night are £77, with four matches taking place. There are also all day tickets for the majority of the event.

You can view the ticket prices here.

The action will be shown live on Eurosport and Discovery+ in the UK.

In addition, the inaugural World Open, which was due to take place alongside the World Masters in December, has been upgraded to a gold-graded competition after restrictions in the Netherlands were eased for multi-day events.

This means the men’s and women’s champions in that tournament will automatically qualify for the WDF World Championship. Qualifiers will then follow the day after at the start of December at De Bonte Wever in Assen.
